How the score is calculated

The score is partially based on the table "Guidelines for selecting drug treatment of hypertension" contained in the 1999 WHO-ISH Guidelines. The results of subsequent studies may have changed, even substantially, the indications reported above.

1. A score is attributed to all the indications and contraindications reported in the above mentioned table as following:
a. "compelling indications" = +2
b. "possible indications" = +1
c. "possible contraindications" = -1
d. "compelling contraindications" =
NO!!

2. The final score for the various drug classes is obtained by the algebric sum of individual scores.
